About Dalma
Dalma Szabo is the Co-Founder and CEO of The Zero-Waste Company, behind OH, a potato!, the first AI-native meal planning app built specifically to tackle household food waste rather than diet or nutrition. She built it because she wanted a tool that noticed when food was slipping through the cracks and helped stop it, not one that served the same recipes to everyone and ignored what was already in the kitchen.
What OH, a potato! does
OH, a potato! uses LocalChoir, a proprietary on-device AI orchestration layer, which coordinates a network of specialised agents for ingredient recognition, freshness prediction, recipe matching, fallback planning and household behaviour analysis. The result is real-life adaptability: the app reacts to fridge scans, grocery receipts, missed meals and changing schedules, updating meal plans in real time. If spinach is about to go off, it suggests what to do with it. If plans shift, it adjusts. The target is a 42 percent reduction in food waste per user through hyper-personalisation and real-time adaptation.

Responsible AI in practice
OH, a potato! is built around on-device intelligence and data minimisation rather than surveillance or profiling. Personal data stays on the device by default; any optional cloud use requires explicit consent, with minimised and anonymised payloads. The app does not build behavioural profiles, does not serve ads, and users can opt out of data features without losing core functionality. The LocalChoir architecture is modular, explainable and designed for controllability, with users able to see the reasoning behind suggestions and confirm or override actions.
